Opposing Natick Public Schools' Radical Gender Policies is About Health Not Hate

Hate is defined as intense or passionate dislike for someone. It can manifest as intense hostility, disgust, and a desire to eliminate the object of the feeling. It is a destructive, consuming emotion that views the target as fundamentally evil and unchangeable. Hate often results in actions like physical violence, verbal abuse, and criminal activity.
Many well-adjusted, politically diverse parents with children in Natick Public Schools and parents throughout the country reject the radical claims that gender exists as "lots of possibilities" with "no boundaries or boxes" and biological sex is something medicalization can change. This is not hate. These concerned parents in Natick and beyond are fighting for children's health—their mental health, physical health and family health.

Mental health distress: As Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (DIAG) reported in May, emerging research suggests that social transition is a significant intervention that can influence body dissociation and the persistence of confusion and distress about the body. Dr. Hilary Cass, who led a four-year independent review of the pediatric Gender Identity Development Service for England’s National Health Service, emphasized that social transition should not be considered a neutral act, as it may have substantial effects on a child's psychological functioning.
Thus, concerned parents rightfully reject NPS curriculum that indoctrinates students in the idea that some children can be neither a boy or a girl, or both a boy and a girl—especially since this can confuse children into a decision to socially transition, which significantly influences the more dire decision to medically transition (and to make matters worse, NPS enforces "gender support plans" that may direct school staff to hide a child's chosen gender identity from his/her parents).
Physical health disruption: As DIAG also mentioned in its reporting, some schools refer students to external organizations or gender clinics, where medical interventions like opposite-sex hormones or puberty blockers are discussed. Others provide binders and alternate clothing to keep parents from suspecting any issues. These actions put children on a dangerous path to an unattainable goal—changing their immutable sex. School staff are neither qualified nor mandated to initiate, facilitate, or participate in a significant psychosocial intervention, especially one with such dire consequences. After sex-trait modification procedures, children become life-long medical patients with increased risk for a host of health issues, including infertility, sexual dysfunction, and more.
Family health damage: Data from 2024 show more than 1,000 public school districts in 38 states (including Natick Public Schools here in Massachusetts) and the District of Columbia authorized or required “gender support plans” that withhold the “gender identity” information of minor students from their parents. This divisive school policy damages family relationships and denies parents the right to direct the care, education and upbringing of their children.
Moreover, concerned parents know what's best for their child and are integral to helping that child if he/she is suffering from gender confusion. In his piece titled "School Influenced My Trans Delusion. My Father Saved Me From It," desister Simon Amaya-Price points out "I never suffered the hormonal or surgical protocols that some of the other boys from my school did, thanks in large part to my father’s persistence."
Parents who speak boldly (or privately) about an ideology and related school policies that can harm students also teach children to have compassion toward people who are struggling, especially classmates or peers who may be confused about their identity.
Remember, scrutiny is not bigotry, and health concerns are not hateful. Parents who oppose Natick Public Schools' radical gender policies and related procedures are fighting for the holistic health of their children and arguably that of a generation.
Use these resources to opt your child out of radical, age-inappropriate gender lessons and to voice your concerns about unsafe gender procedures that may direct school staff to hide your child's chosen gender identity from you.
